GILDED

Coming from years of wearing Diptyque’s Eau Duelle, my husband originally gave this fragrance to me after I spoke about wishing to find a canadian made perfume that would still fit my general style. It’s very spice forward and comforting, what you would normally categorise as an « autumn scent ». Having worn an incense-spun fragrance all summer long for many years, when I emptied the gifted bottle a couple weeks back, I decided to double down on Gilded and make it my go-to.
It stays on me until I shower and on my clothes for week, but is not so strong that it embalms the whole office.
I really love this fragrance and am both grateful to paraphrase for making it and to my husband for finding it and gifting it to me.

I started with a discovery set, and used every last drop of every single scent! All of the Paraphrase fragrances last a long time on my skin. The spices in Gilded are so well blended and rich, I decided to make it my full price purchase. I hope it transitions well into spring, because I really cannot stop wearing it! It reminds me, just a small bit, of the Opium perfume my grandmother wore— not at all because it’s overpowering, more because it is so spicy, sophisticated, and timeless.

I am absolutely in love with this scent, but it evaporates on me literally immediately upon application :( I got it in a sample bottle and noticed that as well, but I was so obsessed with the smell, I got a bigger bottle. And I just NEED to figure out how to make it stay on my skin (or hair) because it’s the best thing I’ve ever smelled.

I will start this by saying I’m not one for orange blossom or florals of any kind,. However, this scent is my most worn. The balance of warm incense against bright cardamom is masterful, and the sweetness of the orange blossom beautiful rounds out the spice of ginger. I cannot recommend it enough. If you’re looking for an unexpected cardamom that tells a story rather than screams of a bakery, this is your perfume.

This is my second bottle of this beautiful scent! I wish I could roll around in it like a dog— it’s so addictively delicious. I love cardamom, and this is just the best sugary spicy decadent cardamom scent . An excellent fall and winter fragrance, I’ve gotten many compliments with it layered with 11 11 oil. Also love layering with darker, whisky like scents.
